Created in Montpellier in 1890, this sweet combines the benefits of licorice with the sweetness of honey.
The Greek naturalist Theophrastus already praised the benefits of this blend, which, according to him, was said to heal ulcers, relieve dry coughs, and prevent thirst.
Today, it is a natural sweet made with gum arabic, derived from Senegal acacia. Gum arabic is calorie-free and a natural prebiotic; it supports the development of good bacteria, is rich in fiber, and has a high calcium content, beneficial for joints and bones. It also contains sugar, licorice extract, and honey.
It remains very pleasant to enjoy and acts as a natural soothing sweet for sore throats.
