Collection: Dragées

For some, the origin of the dragée dates back to Roman times, as early as 177 BC. It is said to have been invented by Julius Dragatus, a confectioner attached to the patrician Fabius family. The sweets he made, known as dragati, were almonds and hazelnuts coated in honey.

Today, dragées mark life’s joyful events. They are still made in our workshops, in large copper coating pans that cover the almonds with a fine layer of sugar.

Our five qualities of almonds are carefully selected and distinguished according to their origin: Spanish (Longuette) or Italian (Avola).
